Kathy Hintz (nee Muller), the group's soloist grew up in a musical family in Abbotsford, BC. Wherever she lived or traveled, in Canada, US, Okinawa, Japan, Philippines and Brazil, she has ministered as soloist or as a member of ensembles and choirs. Her husband, Jake Hintz, often accompanies her on the violin. In 1993 her cousin Alex Maier immigrated to Canada from Chelyabinsk, Russia and together with pianist Marcus Unger, Springs of Joy was formed. Their first CD was released in Dec 2001. They minister mainly in Christian venues like Churches, Banquets, Weddings, Funerals and special events.

Kathy sings from her heart. Sharing the love of Jesus with her audience to glorify her Lord has always been her passion and desire. The songs on this her second CD are the songs from her heart to your hearts. It is her prayer that the message of hope, love, peace and joy will inspire you to a deeper love and passion for sharing the love of Jesus with others. We dedicate this music to the praise and glory of God, and trust that all who listen to it will be spiritually enriched and refreshed to a deeper level of faith and joy.

Alex Maier received his musical training in Cheyabinsk, Russia, where he earned the highest diploma from the State Institute of Culture. He specialized in oboe and has performed in many orchestras, ensembles, and as soloist in Russia and Canada. Currently he is on the faculty of the Chilliwack Academy of Music, as well as the Central Valley Academy of Music and the Western Conservatory of Music where he teaches Oboe, Saxophone and Clarinet. He plays oboe in "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring."

Marcus Unger is an accomplished international pianist and organist admired for his dynamic and sensitive accompaniment. He has touched many lives with his God given talents. He currently plays for various ensembles, in churches and various community events. He composed some of the oboe, sax and English horn parts on this CD and sings in "You Shine." His daughter Aliyah Unger, age 13, plays the harp in "Mude Bin Ich Geh zu Ruh."

We are delighted to have our sons Dan Hintz, playing bass, and Steve Hintz playing accoustic and lead guitar, join us in making this a family CD. Both of them play in their Church's worship teams. Steve also teaches guitar, plays in several bands and serves recording artists via his in-house recording studio in Winnipeg.

Our second CD is called "Here is Love" which was released in June 2013. Recorded by Sergey Maryshev, who provided some of the guitar accompaniment and background music. We greatly appreciate his gracious friendly spirit and him giving so freely of his time and expertise.
